The CPI measures the rate for price change of goods and services purchased by Nauru’s residence household. The
Nauru Bureau of Statistics (NBS) collects prices from five major outlets in Nauru including some Chinese Shops, as
well as prices from other service providers, including transport, energy and telecommunications. The CPI weights are
derived from the Nauru Household Income & Expenditure Survey (HIES) of 2012/13.
