In the September 2023 quarter compared with the June 2023 quarter:
- The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.9 percent.
- The largest increase in prices this quarter is in the Transport group which increased to 11.0 percent, contributing a 1.8 percent increase to overall CPI inflation.
- On the contrary, the Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group posted the highest decrease of -15.7 percent, contributing -0.5 percent to the overall CPI.
- The Food and non-alcoholic beverages group declined -0.4 percent contributing a -0.2 percent decrease in the overall CPI.
- The Alcohol beverage and tobacco group declined by -7.0 percent contributing to a -0.6 percent decrease in the overall CPI.
