  • The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 4.9 percent.
  • The largest increase in prices this quarter is in the Food and non-alcoholic beverages group which increased to 8.1 percent, contributing a high increase of 3.4 percent to overall CPI growth.
  • On the contrary, the Clothing and Footwear group decreased by -5.3 percent, contributing a decline of 0.2 percent to the overall CPI growth.

CPI Year on year change:

  • The March 2023 quarter versus the March 2022 quarter, the CPI increased to 6.9 percent.
  • This compares to an increase of 2.1 percent in the December 2022 quarter to the December 2021 quarter.
